Carmen Gutman, Associate Attorney
Mrs. Gutman is an associate attorney with California Trial Law Group. Mrs. Gutman was admitted to the California State Bar in June 2017 and was on the Dean’s List and the recipient of several Witkin Awards for academic excellence at the John F. Kennedy School of Law. Prior to working California Trial Law Group, Mrs. Gutman worked for Ad Astra Law Group in San Francisco. Mrs. Gutman has clerked at the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office, where she argued motions, conducted client intake, and aggressively defended her clients in court. While at the Public Defender’s office, she also worked on a criminal capital case conducting discovery, investigation and research. This capital case resulted in a hung jury.
Prior to law school, Mrs. Gutman lived abroad in places such as Canada, England, Los Angeles and the Republic of Panama. She graduated from the University of California Los Angeles cum laude, where she majored in English and Spanish Literature. During her time at UCLA, she worked as a research assistant for a Latin American Studies professor.
Mrs. Gutman was raised in the Republic of Panama. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
When Mrs. Gutman is not advocating for others she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, cooking and swimming.
